Structured
learning,
properly done.
Most online learning platforms optimise for completion rates rather than retention. Courses get finished - but the knowledge rarely sticks.
Alutvrek was built around a different premise: that testing yourself repeatedly on real material, with immediate feedback, produces measurably better recall than passive video consumption.
A small team with a specific focus
Founded in Cork in 2016, Alutvrek has stayed deliberately small. Every person here works directly on the product - there are no layers between the people who design the quizzes and the learners who use them.
Decisions get made quickly. Feedback from users reaches the team the same week it arrives.
Orla Fennelly
Head of Curriculum Design
Designs the question frameworks that sit behind each quiz module. Spent eight years in secondary education before joining Alutvrek, and that background shows in how assessments are structured.
Bastian Ørvik
Lead Assessment Engineer
Handles the logic behind adaptive difficulty and scoring. Came from a background in psychometrics, which means the numbers behind your results actually mean something.
Tomasz Wielecki
Platform Infrastructure
Keeps the platform running reliably across time zones. Monitors response times and quiz delivery so that a session in Dublin performs the same as one in Nairobi.
What the platform handles each month
These figures reflect normal operating load - not peak events or promotional periods. They give a realistic sense of how the platform performs under consistent daily use.
Reliability matters more than scale. A quiz that fails mid-session teaches nothing except frustration.
Accessible from wherever learning happens
Alutvrek does not restrict access by region. The platform runs in the browser with no installation, and quiz content is served from infrastructure distributed across multiple locations.
Europe
The largest share of active learners. Institutional partnerships with several secondary and tertiary education providers.
Africa
Growing steadily since 2021. Many users access the platform through mobile browsers on slower connections - performance on constrained networks is a design priority.
Asia Pacific
Primarily self-directed learners preparing for professional certifications. Quiz content in this region skews toward technical and vocational subjects.
Latin America
Newer market with consistent month-on-month growth. Language localisation for Spanish and Portuguese content is currently in development.
